The Project
Protecting the Forest
The Kiplombe mountain rainforest faces constant threats: illegal charcoal production, logging for construction, unregulated grazing, hunting, and unclear protected area boundaries. As ecotourism is still in its infancy, the Conservancy lacks the critical financial resources needed to employ and equip professional rangers to protect and regenerate this vital ecosystem.
Our Solution:
We launched a professional ranger force to enforce forest rules, run tree nurseries, lead reforestation, and educate local villages on sustainable use. Treasures of Kenya supports this effort through fundraising and program development.

Ranger Responsibilities
The rangers are the eyes, ears, and hands of the Conservancy. The four full-time, professionally equipped rangers—Betsy, Felix, Levis, and Meshack—have clear and vital tasks:
- Protection & Patrolling: Monitor protected areas to prevent illegal activities like logging, charcoal burning, and poaching.
- Ecosystem Regeneration: Manage tree nurseries and lead reforestation efforts to restore degraded areas.
- Community Education: Engage with villages to promote sustainable forest use and conservation awareness.
- Monitoring & Research: Use specialized equipment to track wildlife and gather data for conservation management.
Power Their Mission
Adopt a Ranger
To ensure sustainable, professional forest protection, we launched a four-person ranger force in June 2025. Your sponsorship is essential to keep them in the field.
By sponsoring a ranger, you directly provide the tools and security they need:
- €150: Supports one ranger’s training and field equipment.
- €200: Supports one ranger’s monthly salary and livelihood.
- €2,500: Sponsors one ranger for an entire year.
Your commitment ensures a ranger is employed, equipped, and trained to safeguard the forest every single day.
