Perserving Kenya's Natural and Cultural Heritage

What we do

We support the protection of Kenya’s valuable treasures

Our Partners and Projects

Challenges addressed naturally

Bees and new Trees

Sinyati Women Group

We empower women beekeepers from the Ilchamus community. Their enterprise has already lifted them from poverty, and we’re now helping them build a honey production hub to promote sustainable agriculture and uplift more women.

Protecting a Volcanic Crater

Kiplombe Community Conservancy

We support Kiplombe community building and managing its 290-hectare nature reserve with mountain forests of high ecological diversity. To restore and protect the local resources, we develop sustainable livelihoods, foster sustainable community development and implement better forest management practices.

We build a ranger force that ensures security and compliance with forest rules, runs a tree nursery and a reforestation program for native trees, but is also in charge of community relations, awareness building, and education for better forest management practices.

Who is driving the Treasures of Kenya?

The Treasures of Kenya have been founded by the Nairobi based 50 Treasures of Kenya Trust. We work hand in hand with our German sister organisation, the Cologne-based Treasures of Kenya e.V. to preserve the natural and cultural treasures of Kenya and contribute to it’s sustainable development.
